In a heartfelt message, Kate stated, “The reason why we started this march, I feel as a woman and entertainer, as someone who holds a position in society, I have a responsibility to protect women. The majority of my following are women. The people who have supported me through and through are women. I am a mother, I am a woman, and I have a right to life. My sisters have a right to life.”

Expressing her commitment to the cause, the award-winning actress asserted, “I have a responsibility to protect and speak against any form of violation of their rights, that’s why I’ve decided to come and join them today.”

The Nyeri march, led by Kate, was scheduled to take place on the 26th of January 2024. The initiative aims to address the recent surge in murders recorded in Kenya and advocates for an end to these senseless killings.

The involvement of prominent personalities and organizations underscores the collective determination to address and combat the issue of violence against women in Kenya.
