The Chief Government Pathologist, Johansen Oduor, has uncovered the horrifying details surrounding the death of Rita Waeni, the slain university student whose severed head was discovered in Kiambaa Dam.
After conducting a thorough autopsy at the City Mortuary, Oduor revealed the grim reality of Rita’s demise. The young woman was not only strangled but also subjected to the gruesome act of decapitation. The head, cruelly chopped off at the neck’s C5 vertebrae level, bore signs of trauma, including bruising caused by a blunt object.
“I can comfortably conclude that the cause of death was strangulation after which she was decapitated and her body dumped,” stated Oduor, offering a haunting insight into the brutal circumstances surrounding Rita Waeni’s tragic end.
The autopsy also exposed fractures on bones, painting a chilling picture of the violence inflicted upon Rita. The blunt force trauma to her scalp further emphasizes the brutality of the heinous act.
Prior to the autopsy, Rita’s family had positively identified the severed head found in Kiambaa Dam. The identification process focused on details such as hair, forehead features, and the formation of her teeth, undoubtedly bringing unimaginable grief to her loved ones.
Rita Waeni’s life was tragically cut short at an Airbnb on TRM Drive, Roysambu, where she met her gruesome fate. Her lifeless body was later found discarded in a trash bin, unraveling a horrifying crime that has sent shockwaves throughout the nation.
