CCTV Captures Gang Robbing Kibra Residents at Gun Point

A trio of criminals was captured on surveillance cameras during a recent armed robbery in Kibra, Nairobi County. The incident, believed to have occurred last week at 3 am, unfolded as the suspects approached three residents without displaying any hostile intentions.

Upon reaching the victims – two men and a woman – one assailant seized the woman’s hand, another brandished a firearm, and the third proceeded to rob them. The CCTV footage showed the thieves pilfering valuables before strolling away nonchalantly, leaving the residents both stunned and stranded.

Subsequent reports revealed that two of the suspects met their demise on Saturday. The duo was suspected to be part of a larger gang that had been terrorizing Kibra residents at night, utilizing firearms and other crude weapons.

In addition to the recent robbery, the two suspects were implicated in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old footballer from Kibera the previous week. The young athlete allegedly fell victim to the culprits, who shot him three times.

Kibra residents expressed concerns about the gang’s activities, citing a total of four fatalities attributed to them. Questions arose regarding the apparent lack of swift action by authorities.

Lindi Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Jairus Omaya called for an operation to track down the suspects, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the escalating security situation. The local Officer in Charge of the Station (OCS) issued a warning to the roaming gangs, asserting that the police possessed sufficient information about those involved.

“Their days are numbered. I have been here all night and day, and we have intel on the suspects. I cannot disclose much as investigations are ongoing,” stated the OCS.

Kibra Member of Parliament Peter Odero assured residents that their security was a top priority. He affirmed his collaboration with relevant authorities to eliminate gangs emerging in the constituency, vowing to address the pressing issue.
